Privacy Statement (EEA) 

Eleo Technologies B.V. and its group companies hereby establish this “Privacy Policy” to process your personal data lawfully, fairly,  and in a transparent manner. This Privacy Policy describes how Eleo and its group companies will collect and process your personal data through our websites, devices, products, services, online and physical stores, applications, and other business activities.  

In connection with providing you with our products and services, we explain in this document how we process your personal data for the purpose of complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”). 

What you need to know regarding our processing of your personal data 

(1) Definitions 

Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, including, without limitation, name, location data, identification number, address, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address from you. 

Processing” means any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organization, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction. 

Controller” means a legal person which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data. 

Processor” means a legal person which processes personal data on behalf of the Controller. 

 

(2) Types of Personal Data to be Collected 

We may collect the following types of personal data from you in connection with the products and services, in such case you have provided such data to us: 

(a) Contact information that allows us to identify and to communicate with you, such as your name, phone number, mailing address, email address. 

(b) Transaction information about your interaction with us, including inquiries and warranty claims. 

(c) Relationship information that helps us understand your experience with our products and services. 

(3) Why? - Purpose of Use of Personal Data 

We may process personal data for the following purposes, provided you have explicitly provided your consent or a legal basis under GDPR exists, and provided you have submitted such personal data to us: 

(a) to provide you with our products and services; 

(b) to contact you regarding our products, services, and business;  

(c) to inform you about our products, services, and business;  

(d) to inform you about our seminars, exhibitions, demonstrations related to our products and services;  

(e) to provide you with warranty service and repair services for our products;  

(f) to provide guidance on periodic inspection and conducting after-sales activities;  

(g) to ask for cooperation in questionnaire surveys on customer satisfaction with the use of the products and services;  

(h) to develop our products.  

If we process the personal data on a legitimate basis for purposes other than the above, we will inform you in advance of such new purposes if required by applicable law. 

We may require you to provide your personal data in connection with the provision of the products and services. In such cases, if you do not provide personal data, we may be unable to provide the products and services. 

(4) For how long? - Retention Period 

We will retain the personal data to the extent we may require such personal data for achieving the purposes of use specified above, and we will promptly delete the same when such data are no longer necessary to provide the products and services unless you have specifically agreed that such personal data may be used for marketing purposes. Your financial data following out of the transactions with us will be retained as required by applicable laws. 

(5) Third Party Transfer 

We may provide the personal data to third parties such as the subsidiaries and affiliates, dealers, retailers which provide the products and services. Such third parties may include third parties located in countries (including, without limitation, Japan) outside the European Economic Area (the “EEA”): 

(a) Certain countries outside the EEA may not have the same level of data protection as countries within the EEA, however, we have executed “standard contractual clauses” with third parties located in countries outside the EEA to warrant that the personal data will be processed in accordance with the GDPR; 

(b) personal data will only be provided to and processed by such third parties for the purposes specified above. 

(6) Disclosure, Correction, and Other Rights concerning Personal Data  

You are entitled to access, request for correction, request for deletion, request to limit the processing, object to the processing, of the personal data retained by us pursuant to the provisions of relevant laws and regulations. Such requests shall be provided to the contact point set below. 

We may refuse your request if we deem it to lack a reasonable basis for such a request or if the request is deemed excessive. 

You may file objections to the data protection authorities having jurisdiction over your domicile regarding the processing of your personal data by us. 

(7) Unsubscribing from Direct Marketing 

If you have consented to receiving our marketing materials and wish to unsubscribe, you should contact the contact point set below. 

(8) Cookies 

A cookie is a piece of text that is stored on your computer by your web browser. We use cookies to monitor how people use our site so we can develop and improve the design, layout and function of the site. 

Cookies enable us to identify your device. We use cookies that are strictly necessary to enable you to move around the site or to provide certain basic features. We use cookies to enhance the functionality of the website by storing your preference, for example. We also use cookies to help us to improve the performance of our website to provide you with better user experience. We also allow cookies that may be served where we embed social media links such as X, YouTube and LinkedIn. 

If you do not want us to use cookies in your browser, you can remove cookies from your computer's hard drive, or set your browser to block cookies or to send a warning notice before a cookie is stored on your computer. However, please note that you may not be able to use many of the services on our website or other websites without cookies.  

Notwithstanding the above, you may not remove cookies from your computer's hard drive or set your browser to block cookies in certain services, in which case you will be informed of the applicable cookie policy in such specific service 

(9) Social Media Features 

Our site may also include social media or lead generation features, such as Facebook or X buttons and widgets, such as the “share this button”. These features may collect your IP address, which pages you are visiting on our site and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media and lead generation features and widgets may be hosted by a third party. Your interactions with these features and widgets are governed by the privacy statement of the company providing it. 

(10) Our Reach - Scope of Privacy Statement 

This Privacy Statement applies to us, unless a different privacy statement to a specific service of ours applies. Other websites that may be accessible through this website may have their own privacy statements.  

Measures Implemented to Protect your Data 

In order to protect the personal data from unauthorized access and loss, taking into account the characteristics of such personal data, the degree of sensitivity and the degree to which such personal data may affect you, including the potential economic impact and mental harm in case the personal data is unlawfully processed or in case of a data leak, we have comprehensively evaluated and assessed your risks, and we have implemented the necessary and appropriate personal, organizational and technical safety management measures and we are committed to take the necessary corrective actions if needed, and to constantly make efforts to improve their data security. 

We will make all reasonable efforts to appropriately manage personal data by restricting the entry of outsiders to the offices and electronic data systems where the processing of personal data takes place including conducting educational awareness raising programs for all officers and employees involved in the processing of personal data, and by appointing managers in charge for each division which processes personal data. 

If we, in our role as Controller conclude any contracts with Processors, we are committed to selecting Processors which are capable of implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures and we shall manage such Processors in an appropriate manner, fully in compliance with the GDPR.  

Continuous Improvement 

We shall continuously review and revise its efforts regarding the processing of personal data, in order to remain in full compliance following changes of the GDPR. 

Amendment of this Privacy Statement 

We may amend this privacy statement at any time in order to comply with the GDPR. If you continue to use the service once this privacy statement has been amended it shall be deemed that you have consented to the amended privacy statement.
