Currently we are searching for a new Head of Manufacturing Engineering, either short term interim as contractor or long term on our payroll. 

 

What will you do as a Head of Manufacturing Engineering at ELEO?

As a Head of Manufacturing Engineering you will be responsible to lead and scale the Manufacturing Engineering team on both strategic and people management level. We have great ambitions to grow in the EU market and looking at the future we need to also prepare the Manufacturing Engineering department for USA and Asia (Japan & Korea) markets. 

ELEO’s production line consists of several automated machines and some manual steps with advanced tooling. The Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for the full life cycle of all these machines and tooling. As a Head Manufacturing Engineering, you  will be responsible for creating a strategic roadmap for all these machines and tooling, from requirement setting and implementation to providing service. Furthermore, you will implement improvements necessary to be able to scale the department for growth.

You will be reporting into the COO and work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team, Lead Production & Logistics and NPI team (R&D, Procurement and Quality).

 

As ELEO’s new Head of Manufacturing Engineering you will be dealing with:

  • Scaling, improving and further building our automated production line with our Manufacturing Engineering team
  • Lead and coach a team of engineers: plan, set priorities, delegate tasks, solve problems, develop skills, and contribute to a productive working atmosphere.
  • Create strategic roadmaps and forecasts for growth.
  • Translate company strategy into realistic actions and set priorities according to business needs.
  • Setting up strategic partnerships with all relevant suppliers.
  • Dealing with the full life cycle of the machines: research of the machines, buying (contract negotiating), implementing, and all improvements of the machines and more.
  • Supporting New Product Introductions (NPI's).

 

Requirements / Background

  • Strong experience in setting up automated manufacturing lines is crucial for this role
  • Bachelors of Master’s degree in the area of Mechanical , Mechatronics, Electronics or Automotive engineering with relevant work experience.
  • At least 3+ years’ experience leading (Manufacturing Engineering) teams.
  • Experience creating strategic plans is a must
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • LEAN / Six Sigma Greenbelt is a plus
  • Experience working for EU market is must, USA / Japan /Korea is a plus
  • Experience in (automotive) industry (High mix / Medium volume) is a plus
